Coaching websites

Focus on 6 key elements that help people understand what you offer.

I believe coaches can significantly help people with their work, mental health and life.

Which is why it’s an honour to help these coaches build their personal websites.

Coaching Through Kindness

My client, Laura, wanted to build a business and hired me to do the website, branding and appointment-setting system with a goal to reduce admin.

Here’s a breakdown of the major aspects of building CoachingThroughKindness.com.

  • Bought domain
  • Setup email system
  • Built a website themed around birds, nature and freedom
  • Printing business cards and tabletop sign
  • Appointment booking system

I built the website with two goals:

  • Keep running costs low
  • Minimize complicated technical decisions

Branding with birds

Birds are central to Coaching Through Kindness’s brand and they permeate all aspects of their design.

And finally, on the website…

Appointment booking system

The appointment booking system reduced Laura’s admin work significantly.

Without this system, Laura would need to liaise with the client and book the sessions they wanted. Then, they would have to collect payment manually. If there were any cancellations or rescheduling, Laura would have to do it manually.

I researched a few appointment booking system that had payment integration and decided to test Acuity Scheduling and Calendly. We learned the pros and cons of each system.

Reducing complicated technical aspects

Clients can feel at a lost when making decisions on things in which they aren’t an expert in.

I try to reduce such frictions.

Guiding me were the two pillars to build the website:

  • Minimize costs
  • Minimize client’s technical decisions

In building Coaching Through Kindness, I had make decisions on how to keep costs down while ensuring my client had their own email address, reliable web host and email booking system.

Training and handover

At the end of the project, I created a manual and videos to guide Laura.

The content I created helps her administer the online aspect of her business.

Below is a sample video on how to set custom hours in Acuity Scheduling.

Vals Fauquier

It all started with this butterfly.

This butterfly resulted in the deep purple background for the website.

This butterfly also became the favicon.

Butterflies also replaced bullet points.

Built on custom WordPress

In order to make these possible, I had to build valsfauquier.com with a custom theme.

What makes a good coaching website?

I’ve learned that a good coaching website should have several key elements that help it effectively communicate the coach’s message and attract potential clients.

Clear and compelling messaging

The messaging on the website should be clear and concise, and it should communicate the coach’s unique value proposition. The messaging should also be compelling and persuasive, highlighting the benefits of working with the coach.

Professional design and branding

The website should have a professional design and branding that reflects the coach’s personality and style. It should be visually appealing and easy to navigate.

Testimonials and case studies

Coaching testimonial

Including testimonials and case studies from satisfied clients can help build trust and credibility with potential clients. This social proof can be an effective way to demonstrate the coach’s expertise and track record.

Coaching services and packages

The website should clearly outline the coaching services and packages that the coach offers, including pricing and any special features or bonuses.

Contact information and call to action

The website should make it easy for potential clients to contact the coach and schedule a consultation. A clear call to action (such as “Schedule a Consultation” or “Book Now”) can help encourage visitors to take action.

Relevant content and resources

The website should provide valuable content and resources for visitors, such as blog posts, videos, and downloadable guides. This content can help demonstrate the coach’s expertise and provide value to potential clients.

Overall, a good coaching website should be informative, engaging, and focused on the needs of potential clients. It should effectively communicate the coach’s message and provide a clear path for visitors to take action and become clients.
